NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Women's Tennis dug deep on Friday to earn its first win of the season at home on the courts of the Centennial Sportsplex. The Bruins held on to beat visiting North Alabama, 4-3.

Belmont earned wins at Nos. 1, 4 and 5, thanks to Laura Kent (Kangaroo Valley, Australia), Kendall Warren (New Braunfels, Texas) and Abbie Mather (Louisville, Ky.). Lindsey Whitehead (St. Louis, Mo.) battled at No. 2 but was held off down the stretch, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
