NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Women's Tennis came up short against regional foe Western Kentucky on Saturday evening. The Bruins (1-6) fell to WKU (3-2), 7-0, at the Wildwood Bubble.
The Hilltoppers grabbed the doubles point but not without a fight. The tandem of Laura Kent (Kangaroo Valley, Australia) and Laura Van Eeckhoudt (Overijse, Belgium) were edged 6-5 at No. 2.
Once WKU earned the first point, it never looked back.
"WKU is a solid team," said Head Coach mark Srouji. "We fought hard but Western Kentucky was just the better team today."
Belmont returns to action on Sunday, February 19 with a contest on the road at Tennessee. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
