NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Eastern Kentucky in an OVC match played indoors on Friday afternoon at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.
The Bruins took the doubles point by winning at positions one and three. Freshman Drew Hawkins and Erin Allen earned a win at the number one position as they defeated Kristina Lagoda and Vikorija Demcenkova 6-3. Then at position two, junior Mical Johnson and freshman Sarah Brackin clinched the doubles point claiming a 6-4 victory over Laura Argente and Sagung Putri Dwinta 6-3.
Later in singles, the Colonels posted wins at all six positions to clinch the match victory over the Bruins.
The women's team is back in action next Thursday at Tennessee State starting at 3:00pm.
