DICKSON, Tenn. – Posting the low round of the day, the Belmont men's golf team moved up two spots and finished in third place at the APSU Intercollegiate held this week at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.
Belmont carded a six-under par 282 on Tuesday, the low round of the day among the 11 teams, to move up two spots and finish in third place with a 54-hole score of 851. It was the program's second top-three finish of the season. UT-Martin won the team title with a mark of 844, while host Austin Peay finished second at 847.
Three Bruins finished among the top-12 at the event. Junior Jack Uselton carded a four-under par 68 in the final round to finish in fourth place at 210. He finished three shots behind the individual champion, Jack Story of UT-Martin. In his final round, Uselton had six birdies (including five on the back nine) and just two bogeys. His fourth place finish is his best finish since earning medalist honors at the OVC Championship in April of 2018.
Fellow junior Evan Davis tied for eighth place at 212 after posting an even par 72 on Tuesday. It was his second top-10 finish of the fall season.
Junior Bogle LaRue was one shot back of Davis and finished in a tie for 12th place at 213. The Knoxville native posted a one-under 71 in the final round. It was LaRue's best finish as a Bruin.
Sophomore Coleman Jones and freshman Luke Whitney tied for 41st place at 222. Jones carded a one-under par 71 on Tuesday, while Whitney shot a three-over 75.
Freshman Kohl Kuebler competed as an individual and tied for 25th place at 218. He shot a 71 in the final round.
The men's golf team wraps up their 2019 fall season next Monday and Tuesday, October 21-22, at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia.
