MADISON, Ill. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational held Monday at Gateway National Golf Course in Madison, Illinois.
Belmont shot a final round 285 to finish the event in a tie for fifth place with Wichita State at 840. Idaho won the team title with a score of 821, with Morehead State in second at 823.
Two Bruins finished among the top-20. Freshman
Jack Doyle notched his first top-10 finish as a Bruin as he tied for 10
th place at 208. He shot an even par 71 in the final round to finish nine strokes back of the co-medalists: Matthew Wilson (Weber State) and Samuel Johnson (Idaho).
Junior
Chris Harpum moved up four spots and finished in a tie for 18
th place 210. He carded a one-under par 70 on Tuesday. It was his third straight top-25 finish.

Charlie Spiller (T-43, 215).
The men's golf team has a couple of weeks off before returning to action on October 13-14 at The Scrappy at Cobblestone in Kennesaw, Georgia.
