NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team gets back on the course this Monday and Tuesday at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois.
The Bruins come into this week's event after finishing eighth at the Marshall Invitational two weeks ago. In that event, three Bruins finished in the top-20, led by junior Jack Uselton's 17th place with a 54-hole mark of 210.
Uselton leads the Bruins with a 70.0 scoring average, which also ranks among the top-five in the OVC. Junior Evan Davis is right behind Uselton with a 70.3 average.
The Dolenc Invitational, hosted by fellow OVC member SIUE, is a two-day, 54-hole event with a 36 holes contested on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. It will be played at Gateway National Golf Links and play to a par of 71 and a length of 7,092 yards.
The field for the event includes 18 teams and features the likes of Bradley, Creighton, Missouri State, Omaha, Weber State, and seven OVC squads: Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, host SIUE, Tennessee Tech, and UT-Martin.
This is the first time the Bruins have played in the Dolenc Invitational since the 2015-16 season. In their three previous appearances, the program has one team title and two top-five finishes.
