BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Belmont men's tennis team logged a 4-2 victory over the UAB Blazers Saturday afternoon at George Ward Park.
The Bruins (9-3) extended their winning streak to six matches, as they have recorded victories in nine of their last 10 dual matches.
Belmont opened up the doubles competition with a win in the top spot, 6-4, courtesy of junior Marko Ilic and senior Hendrik Inno. The tandem of junior Taisei Miyamoto and senior Felix Rauch secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win from the No. 2 position.
Rauch claimed the Bruins' first victory in singles from the top spot with a 6-1, 6-1 straight-set win over Roman Postolka. Miyamota and Ilic rounded out the match with a pair of victories to clinch the 4-2 road win.
UP NEXT: Belmont returns to action Tuesday and Wednesday for a pair of neutral-site matchups with Quinnipiac and James Madison in Florida.
