NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont women's tennis fell to the Central Arkansas Bears, 7-0, Sunday morning in its season opener at Hadley Park.
In doubles competition, the upperclassman duo of Erin Allen and Lauren Carelli battled from the No. 2 position, but went on to fall 6-3. Belmont's other pair of duos each lost by a margin of 6-1 on the day.
In singles play, senior Terra Sheldon dropped to Sumomo Hamanaga of the Bears (1-5) in three sets from the No. 5 spot, while junior Somer Henry lost a hard-fought match in the top position 7-5, 7-6.
UP NEXT: The Bruins (0-1) take a short trip down Belmont Boulevard to faceoff with Lipscomb next Saturday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
