NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont women's tennis was defeated by the ETSU Buccaneers, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at Hadley Park.
The Bruins (1-3) were swept in the doubles competition by the Bucs (4-2), as junior Peyton Lee tabbed Belmont's lone singles victory on the day at the No. 2 position.
ETSU recorded wins in the first and third spot to clinch the doubles point early on, as the upperclassman duo of Erin Allen and Lauren Carelli dropped a close 7-5 decision from the No. 2 spot.
In singles, Lee came away with a resilient three-set victory over Alejandra Morales of the Buccaneers (6-3, 1-6, 6-4) in the second position. The remainder of the Bruins were taken down in straight sets on the afternoon.
UP NEXT: Belmont returns to action on Feb. 14, as they play host to North Alabama on Valentine's Day at 5 p.m.
