NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Belmont University men's tennis team was defeated by Chattanooga 5-2 on Monday at the Belmont Tennis Complex.
Junior Arthur Toledo picked up his 10th singles win of the season, winning his No. 2 singles match with a pair of 6-1 victories. Freshman Tomas Luis moved to 8-4 on the season, winning 7-5 in the first set and finishing set two with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Despite Belmont getting two points from singles match victories from Toledo and Luis, Chattanooga swept the doubles portion of the match to claim the first point. The Mocs collected four singles victories to earn the final four points, winning the match by three points.
Belmont (9-3) continues Ohio Valley Conference play on Saturday, making the local road trip to Tennessee State at 9 a.m. at Hadley Park.
