Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A hot, sunny day filled with multiple hydration breaks in Evansville, Ind. Belmont University fell 3-0 to the University of Evansville.
First Half:
The Bruins started off strong and calm moving the ball around the field maintaining possession and finding the holes for their passing lanes. Avery Nowak recorded the first shot for the Bruins this match
Both Belmont and Evansville have very strong defensive games, making the opportunities to score that much more difficult. Towards the end of the first half the possession became more even between both teams. Ultimately, ending the first half 0-0
Second Half:
Evansville scored three goals in similar fashion in the 47th, 50th, and 73rd minutes of the game. All three were corner kicks that were headed into the back of the net. Emilie Hill scored two and the other was scored by Monique Hill.
The Bruin bench remained loud even after Evansville scored three goals in the second half. Their support for each other and passion for their team says a lot about the program itself. In the last 10 minutes of play the Bruins fought hard to get a goal on the board. The Bruins played majority of the last five minutes in the Ace's 18. Their intensity levels and hard work did not stop until the clock reached 0:00.
