Belmont (2-4) vs. Lipscomb (1-6) | Tuesday, Sept. 14 | 6:00 p.m.

ESPN+ | Live Stats

Allen Arena | Nashville, Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont University volleyball will make the short trip to Allen Arena on Tuesday night for a much-anticipated Battle of the Boulevard clash with rival Lipscomb. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

ESPN+ will carry the broadcast of the lone matchup this season between the Bruins and Bisons, while live stats will be available here.

What's Bruin

  • Belmont will look for a quick rebound after their trip to Chicago this past weekend for the UIC Invitational saw them go 0-3 in matches against UIC, Chicago State, and Eastern Michigan. After opening up the season with wins over Alcorn State and North Alabama, the Bruins have now lost four in a row.

  • The Bruins were swept by UIC and Eastern Michigan but took a set off of Chicago State in the second match of the tournament on Friday evening.

  • Senior outside hitter Taylor Floyd had her best performance of the season against the Cougars, notching a season-high 17 kills with just one attack error and a .329 attack percentage.

  • Junior right side Laura Shoopman is averaging 3.00 kills per set while hitting .247, the second-highest mark on the team among qualified players

  • Sophomore libero Rachel McBride has 83 total digs and is averaging 4.61 digs per set, good for 5th in the OVC

  • Senior setter Carly Mason is currently 7th in the OVC in assists per set, with a 6.43 mark while splitting time at the position with sophomore Izzy Schauer

  • Belmont is currently 2nd in the OVC at 2.33 blocks per set. Senior middle hitter Kailee Bass is 5th in the OVC with 1.10 blocks per set

  • Belmont leads the all-time series with Lipscomb, 26-18. The two teams did not play in the shortened 2020-21 season.

  • Belmont will look to snap a seven-game losing streak to Lipscomb in the all-time series. The Bisons have won 14 of the last 15 matchups, and Belmont has not beaten Lipscomb at Allen Arena since 2006.

About the Bisons

  • Lipscomb has played one of the most difficult non-conference schedules for any mid-major in the country. The Bisons have played matches against No. 6 Purdue, No. 15 Western Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma, Xavier, Wake Forest, and Houston. Lipscomb beat the Sooners in a road game in Norman, Okla., for their lone win so far.

  • Lipscomb won both the Atlantic Sun regular season and tournament championships last year, advancing to the NCAA Tournament where they fell to No. 23 Georgia Tech in the first round

  • The Bisons were picked to finish second in the 2021 ASUN Preseason Poll

  • Lipscomb's attack is orchestrated by last season's ASUN and AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year, Delaney Dilfer. Dilfer is averaging 9.79 assists per set.
