ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Junior
Delia Gibbs and freshman
Chloe Tarkany have been named Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Co-Golfers of the Week as announced by the conference office on Thursday. They share the honor with Kristen Giles of Drake.
Gibbs won her second-straight medalist honor by firing a three-round 73-75-75=221. Â She is just the third Belmont golfer in program history to win back to back individual titles (
Lorie Warren,
Cameron Fish).   The Lexington, Kentucky native earns weekly honors for the third time this fall. For the season, she leads the team with a 73.8 scoring average and has top-five finishes in all three events this fall.
Tarkany shot a three-round 74-73-74=221 in the 44-player field to capture medalist honors for the first time in her collegiate career. She's just the second Belmont freshman to win an individual title, joining teammate
Kendall Maynard. Â Â For the season, the Scottsdale, Arizona product ranks second on the team in scoring at 76.2 and has a win and two top-16 finishes in three events.Â
The duo helped the team to back-to-back team titles for the first time in school history, while Belmont posted the fourth-lowest 54-hole score in program history. Â
The women's golf team is back on the links next Monday and Tuesday at the Little Rock Golf Classic in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.Â
