ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- For the first time this season, Belmont only played until the fourth point was sealed. Sadly, the Bruins fell to the University of North Carolina at Asheville Bulldogs, 4-1, in the Turpentine State on Sunday.
The Bruins entered singles play after clinching their lone point in doubles.
The lead pair of Tomas Luis and Diego Castro got their first win of the spring over Jon B. Reid and Harry Thursfield: 6-4. Meanwhile, senior Arthur Toledo and Taisei Miyamoto paired up for the first time this spring and won on court two against Bruno and Rafa Serra.
In singles, Castro picked up the only set for the Bruins when he evened up his round against Bruno Serra on court three.
The defeat drops Belmont to 3-2 this spring. They will return to the courts when they head up the road to Vanderbilt next Friday at 2 p.m.
