  • Belmont opened up the 2022 season in Atlanta over the weekend at the Panther Invitational, going 1-2
  • After a 3-0 loss to Auburn and a 3-1 loss to Marist on Friday, the Bruins clinched their first win of the year with a wild 3-2 victory over Georgia State, taking out the Panthers with a 21-19 win in the fifth frame

  • In Friday's loss to Marist, Kristen Clemons set the program record for block assists in a match, tallying 11 in total, including seven in the second set alone. The 11 blocks were the second-most in a match all-time, trailing only the 13 put up by Alexa Nichols in 2016
  • Clemons leads the Missouri Valley Conference in blocks per set (1.33) and ranks ninth in hitting percentage (.324)

  • Belmont dominated from the service line in the win over the Panthers, picking up 12 service aces, the most since September 22, 2017. Lilly Lutz had three aces, while Ally Peterson, Rachel McBride, and Peyton O'Brien each had two aces.
  • Rachel McBride has eclipsed double-digit digs in each of her first three matches, and is currently ninth in the MVC in digs (39)
