Volleyball Earns AVCA 2025-26 Team Academic Award

Bruins earn academic honor for the 12th consecutive season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont University volleyball team has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award for its success in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year.

A total of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award by maintaining a year-long team GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

Belmont has now received the AVCA Team Academic Award 20 times during its NCAA Division I era and has earned the distinction in each of the last 12 seasons dating back to 2015, demonstrating the program's continued commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
