ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Belmont junior women's golfer
Delia Gibbs has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Friday.
Gibbs tied for fourth overall in a field of 60 golfers at the Hoover Fall Invitational earlier this week. She carded a three-round score of 73-72-73=218 to post her eighth career top-10 finish. Her score helped the Bruins finish in third place in the team standings.
The Lexington, Kentucky native currently leads the team in scoring with a 72.7 average.
Delia becomes the first Belmont golfer, male or female, to earn weekly honors from the MVC. Overall, this is the fourth time in her career that she has won conference Golfer of the Week honors.
The women's golf team is back in action this Monday and Tuesday at the APSU Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tennessee.
