Alfred Wallin Reaches ITA Regional Championship Quarterfinals

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – After reaching the final round of qualifying at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships to begin October, senior Alfred Wallin is in the quarterfinals of the singles main draw at the 2023 ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
 
On Saturday, 14th-seeded Wallin won his round of 16 match in straight sets, bouncing Middle Tennessee State University's Karim Al-Amin 6-1, 7-5 at the Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park.
 
Wallin will take on seventh-seeded Leo Raquin of MTSU Sunday morning in the quarters at 8 a.m. CT.
 
Junior Gabriel Sardo was also in action Saturday, earning a pair of extra singles match wins. He dropped only two games in a 6-2, 6-0 rout of Butler's Balthazor Nicholas and defeated the Bulldogs' Siddhartha Lama in a third-set super tiebreak. Winning the opening set 6-1, Sardo rebounded from a 6-4 second set loss by taking the 10-point breaker, 10-5.
