Men's Tennis Wraps Up Play at ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's tennis team concluded its long weekend in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional Championships Sunday morning. Both senior Alfred Wallin and junior Gabriel Sardo took to the courts at the Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park for singles matches.
 
Continuing his strong play as of late, Wallin reached the quarterfinals of the singles main draw with four wins across Thursday, Friday and Saturday. However, on Sunday 14th-seeded Wallin was unable to overcome Middle Tennessee State University's Leo Raquin. The No. 7 seed defeated Wallin 7-5, 6-2 in the third quarterfinal.
 
Despite winning the opening set 6-2 in an extra singles match against Lipscomb University's Facundo Perlov, Sardo was bested 6-3 in the second set and 10-4 in a third-set super tiebreaker.
