NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University Volleyball Program (11-13, 5-5 MVC) fell in three to Northern Iowa (16-6, 10-0 MVC).Â

How it Happened

Belmont started off hot with a solo block from
Sydney Willis and an ace by
Lilly Lutz. Northern Iowa later went on a run to take a commanding 8-17 lead. The Panthers went on to claim the first 13-25.

UNI came out strong in set two. With six kills from Emily Holterhaus, the Panthers jumped to a quick 4-13 lead. A kill from
Laura Shoopman and an ace by
Elizabeth Godfrey ended UNI's early run. The Panthers went on to regain control and take set two 12-25.

The Bruins battled in set three.
Emily Warmenhoven came in and added a kill to help the Bruins take a 12-10 lead midway through the set. The rest of the third was a battle for each point. Willis added two more blocks to push Belmont to a 20-14 lead. The Panthers regained momentum and eventually evened the score at 22 all. UNI continued to push and take set three 23-25.
