JONESBORO, Ark. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate held this week at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The Bruins carded a final round 284 to finish in sixth with a 54-hole score of 851. Host Arkansas State won the team title at 817, while Memphis was second at 830.
Belmont had three golfers finish among the top-20. Sophomore
Jack Schoenberger led the way as he tied for ninth place at 209. He finished nine shots back of the individual medalist, Erik Jansson of Jacksonville State (200). The Georgia native shot a three under par 69 in the final round. It was his third top-10 finish of the season in four events.
Fellow sophomore
Conner Brown carded a one under 71 to post his best finish as a Bruin, a tie for 16
th place at 211. Junior Michael Senn was the only other BU golfer in the top-20, finishing in a tie for 18
th place at 212 after shooting a 69 on Tuesday.
Freshman
Grey Goff tied for 51
st place at 219, while senior
Reeve Felner tied for 61
st place at 222.
Graduate student
Joe Bultman, competing as an individual, is tied for 75
th place at 228.
The men's golf team is off for three weeks before wrapping up their fall season at the Pinetree Intercollegiate, October 23-24 in Kennesaw, Georgia.
