YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - - Belmont University volleyball dropped a three-set decision, 13-25, 20-25, 16-25, to Canisius Saturday morning in the final day of the DoubleTree by Hilton YSU Invitational.

After a stirring, four-set victory over the host Penguins Friday night, Belmont was unable to find the same rhythm.

Emily Warmenhoven got Belmont off to a 3-1 lead in set one before Canisius scored 13 of the next 14 points behind the play of Ella Loussia.

In set two, Belmont elevated its level of play, hitting .333 for the set with only two attack errors. Warmenhoven and
Kristen Clemons powered the Bruin attack, as four straight points on the
Izzy Schauer serve tied the score at 16.

Canisius was able to close out the set, 25-20.

Belmont raced out to a 5-1 lead in set three as
Missy Sterkel delivered multiple kills. But as was the case in set one, Canisius flipped the script behind the Loussia serve to hain momentum and win the match.

Clemons was named to the all-tournament team.

Belmont heads to Bowling Green, Ky. on Tuesday to play Western Kentucky University (1-1). The Bruins will face the Hilltoppers at 6 p.m.Â
