HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Paced by golfers in first and second place and a total of nine rounds of par or better, the Belmont men's golf has the team lead after day one of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational held Monday in Huntington, West Virginia.
The Bruins scorched the links at Guyan Golf and Country Club, posting identical rounds of 272 (-12) to finish the day in the lead with a 36-hole school record score of 544. They are four shots ahead of former OVC rival Morehead State in second place (548) and 10 ahead of third place and host Marshall. The team score of 544, eclipsed the old school record of 545 set at the Southern Showdown during the 2005-06 season.Â
Three Bruins are among the top-10 after 36 holes, including a pair in the top-two positions. Sophomore
Jack Schoenberger has the individual lead with a two round score of 132 (-10). He carded rounds of 68 and 64 and posted a total of 14 birdies for the day. His second round 64 is tied for the second lowest 18-hole score in Belmont's Division I era.Â
Junior Michael Senn is two shots back of Schoenberger in second place at 134 (-8). The Arkansas native shot rounds of 65 and 69 on Monday.Â

Reeve Felner posted rounds of 68 and 70 to finish the day in a tie for 10
th place with five other golfers at 138.
Freshman
Grey Goff stands in a tie for 19
th place at 140 (71-69), while sophomore
Conner Brown is tied for 48
th place at 146.Â
Freshman
Jack Darke, competing as an individual, carded rounds of 71 and 72 to finish the day tied for 35
th place at 143.Â
