BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - - Belmont women's soccer traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky Sunday afternoon for a non-conference match against Western Kentucky. Both the Bruins and Lady Toppers failed to score, with the match ending in a scoreless draw.
The theme of the first half was defense. Neither team scored in the first 45 minutes from a handful of attacks. WKU outshot Belmont 6-1 in the half. Belmont's lone shot came from
Maci Pekmezian, which was on goal.
Second half play mimicked the first. The Lady Toppers outshot the Bruins 8-2, but couldn't get past Doyle in goal. Belmont added two more shots from
Carly Ross and
Riley Casey, to finish the day with three.
Doyle earned her second shutout of the season and 12
th of her career. Her six saves in the match brings her career total to 198.

Belmont returns to the Bluegrass State on Thursday, Sept. 7, for a match against Kentucky. Kickoff from the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. The match will be streamed on SEC Network+.
