DES MOINES, Iowa – The Belmont University Volleyball Program (7-12, 2-5 MVC) fell in three sets to Drake (10-7, 6-0 MVC) on Saturday night.

Drake jumped out ahead early in the first. A kill from
Mialee Dabbelt brought the score to 9-19. The Bulldogs went on to take the first 15-25.

Belmont came out fighting in set two. An ace from
Bella Mathis followed by a Drake error gave the Bruins their first lead of the set at 17-16.
Kamryn Olson added two aces down the stretch to extend the lead at 22-19. The Bulldogs made a late run to push the set to extra points and eventually claimed set two 25-27.

The Bulldogs took an early lead in the third.
Brenna Kauffeld recorded a kill to bring the Bruins within two at 6-8. Drake put together a run midway through the set to take control. A block from Kauffeld and Mathis brought the score to 14-20. The Bulldogs went on to take set three and the match 15-25.
