NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer (6-8-2, 3-3-1 MVC) hosts Valparaiso (4-9-1, 0-5-1 MVC) on Thursday night at E.S. Rose Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. The match with be broadcast on ESPN+

What's Bruin
- Belmont plays two of their final three regular season matches at E.S. Rose Park this week against Valparaiso on Oct. 16 and Southern Illinois on Oct. 20.
- The Bruins enter the week with 10 points and tied with Drake for fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference standings. Missouri State sits atop the standings with a 6-0-1 conference record and 19 points, followed by UIC with 14 points (4-1-2) and UNI with 11 points (3-2-2).
- The final three opponents for Belmont – Valparaiso, Southern Illinois and Indiana State – have a combined record of 4-9-6 in the MVC.
- Ava Labocki and Reagan Ross led the Bruins and are tied for eighth in the MVC with four goals. Ross scored in Belmont's last goal in their 1-1 draw at UNI on Oct. 10.
- Sydney Jones is tied for second in the MVC and 44th in the nation with 67 saves.
- The Bruins rank fourth in the MVC and 30th in the nation with a .518 shot accuracy.
Scouting the Beacons
- Valparaiso earned their first point in conference play on Oct. 13 against Evansville following a 3-3 draw. Abby White, Ashlyn Cohen and Sam Gountounas scored a goal.
- The Beacons have been issued a conference-high 17 yellow cards.
- John Marovich is in his 17th season leading the program. The Beacons claimed their first MVC Tournament title in 2023. Valparaiso lost their NCAA Tournament First Round match against No. 9 Notre Dame, 2-0.
Series History
- Belmont is 3-6 against Valparaiso.
- The Bruins defeated the Beacons during the regular season last year at Brown Field, 2-0. Valparaiso avenged their regular season loss in the first round of the MVC Championship, 1-0.
