NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer (7-8-2, 4-3-1 MVC) returned to action against Valparaiso (4-10-1, 0-6-1 MVC) at E.S. Rose Park on Thursday night. After a scoreless first half, the Bruins' offense exploded in the second half with four goals in 20 minutes. The Bruins cruised into the win column with a dominant 4-0 win.
Scoring Action
Carly Ross put the Bruins on the board in the 49
th minute. The senior collected a loose ball inside the 18-yard box and found the bottom right of the goal.
The Bruins struck again in the 60
th season.
Lillie Tabor drove a ball near the top of the 18-yard box off a corner.
Ava Labocki's header set Paisley up for a one-touch finish with her right foot. The goal gave Belmont a 2-0 lead.
Belmont converted on another corner kick opportunity in the 64
th minute. Tabor's entry ball found Kaitlyn Elliot leaping above the crowd at the top of the 6-yard box. Elliott's goal expanded Belmont's lead, 3-0.
The Bruins scored their fourth goal of the night in the 69
th minute. The Beacons attempted to play a ball back to a defender inside the 18-yard box.
Anay Garcia and Labocki's quick pressure forced a turnover. Garcia fed Labocki a centering pass eight yards out to set up the goal.

What's Bruin
- The Bruins' four goals are a new season high. Thursday night marked the first time Belmont scored four goals in a match since Sept. 8, 2019, against Evansville.
- The last time Belmont scored four goals in a half was Oct. 8, 2017.
- Belmont took a season-high 25 shots in the match. The shot total tied Missouri State on Oct. 13 for the fifth-most shots by an MVC team this season. The Bruins landed 19 shots on goal against Valparaiso's goalkeeper duo.
- Sydney Jones recorded her fifth shutout of the season.
- Belmont took a season-high seven corner kicks with five in the second half.
- Carly Ross scored her second goal of the season. Both of her goals have come in the last four matches. She had a match-high four shots on goal.
- Eliza Paisley scored her second career goal. Both of Paisley's goals have occurred in MVC matches this season with the first on Sept. 22 against Illinois State.
- Kaitlyn Elliott scored her second career goal in her 16th match of the season.
- Ava Labocki finished the night with three points (1g-1a). She leads the team with five goals and 11 points.
- Ten different Bruins placed a shot on goal.
