Women’s Soccer Prepares for Southern Illinois

Bruins Prepare for Final Home Match of Regular Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer (7-8-2, 4-3-1 MVC) plays Southern Illinois (6-4-5, 2-2-3 MVC) in their final home match of the regular season. Kickoff from E.S. Rose Park is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
 
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and stop by the marketing table to receive a free Belmont Soccer white t-shirt.
 
What's Bruin
  • Belmont is fresh off a 4-0 victory over Valparaiso on Thursday night. Carly Ross, Eliza Paisley, Kaitlyn Elliott and Ava Labocki scored within a 20-minute span during the second half. Labocki finished the night with a match-high three points (1g-1a).
  • The Bruins set season-highs in corner kicks (7) and shots (25). The shot total tied Missouri State on Oct. 13 for the fifth-most shots by an MVC team this season.
  • The Bruins are tied with Drake for fourth in the MVC standings. Both teams trail UIC in second place by one point.
  • Labocki leads the Bruins with five goals and is tied for fourth in the MVC. Her 11 points are tied for eighth in the conference.
  • Sydney Jones recorded her fifth shutout of the season on Thursday night.
  • Carly Ross has scored two goals in the last four matches.

  • McKensey Bunch and Sophia Schlicklin lead the team in goals with four each.
