Women’s Soccer Travels to Murray State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer (5-6-1, 2-1 MVC) hits the road on Thursday, Oct. 3, for a conference match against Murray State (4-4-3, 0-1-2 MVC)
 
Kickoff from Cutchin Field is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+
 
What's Bruin

• Belmont's five-match unbeaten streak ended Sept. 29, with a 1-0 loss to UIC. The Bruins outshot the Flames 7-6. It was the first time Belmont outshot their opponent this season.
• The Bruins' four road wins lead the MVC.
• Ava Labocki's four goals are tied for second in the conference.
• Sydney Jones ranks fourth among MVC goalkeepers with 48 saves.
• Reagan Ross leads the team in shots on goal (6) and shots (13).
• Eight of Belmont's 12 goals have been scored in the second half.
• Both head coaches are Kentucky alumni. Belmont's Kelsey Cameron was a four-year letterwinner from 2004-07 and earned All-SEC First Team honors in 2007. Cameron captained the Wildcats to the 2006 SEC Championship and NCAA Tournament. Murray State's Matt Lodge was Kentucky's first Freshman All-America honoree in 2009; he was named to the All-Conference USA Team in 2012. Lodge finished third all-time in assists and game-winning goals. 

Scouting the Racers

• Murray State suffered their first loss in MVC play on Sept. 29 against Southern Illinois, 1-0.
• The Racers are tied with Drake for the third-most goals in the MVC (17); they rank third in goals allowed (10).
• Hailey Cole and Kate Stordy are tied for the team lead in assists (3).
• Griselda Revolorio is second in the MVC with 49 saves.

Series History

• Belmont is 9-7-1 against Murray State.
• Last year's match in Nashville ended in a scoreless draw.
• Belmont won the previous two matches. On Sept. 22, 2022, Belmont scored two second-half goals to defeat Murray State, 3-1.

Belmont returns to E.S. Rose Park on Sunday, Oct. 6, to host Missouri State. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. CT. The match with be broadcast on ESPN+.
