EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Belmont women's golf team finished runner-up at the Braun Intercollegiate held this week at Oak Meadow Country Club in Evansville, Indiana. In addition, freshman
Sloane Biddle tied for second place at the event.
Belmont shot a team score of 307 on Tuesday to move up two spots and finish in the runner-up position with a two round score of 621. They finished 10 shots back of the team champion, Indiana State. Oakland placed third at 623.
Biddle earned her best finish of her short Belmont career as she finished in a tie for second place with Louise Standtke of Evansville at 151. The Midstate native carded a 77 on Tuesday to earn her second top-10 finish of the fall season. They finished four strokes back of the medalist, Yang Tai of Indiana State (147).
Two other Bruins posted top-20 finishes. Junior
Chloe Tarkany shot a final round 74 to finish one stroke back of Biddle and in fourth place at 152. It was the Arizona native's third straight top-10 finish.
Freshman
Harper Edwards bounced back from her struggles on Monday to card a 75 to finish in a tie for 14
thplace at 158. It was her second top-20 finish of her Belmont career.
Senior
Eva Graham tied for 36
th place at 162, while sophomore
Paige Hammarstrom tied for 70
th place at 175.
Three Bruins are competed as individuals. Freshman
Ainsley Moore is tied for 50
th at 167. Fellow freshman
Sophie Skoog finished in 68
th place at 172, while freshman
Emilee Swagger tied for 74
th place at 177.
The women's golf team wraps up their fall season next Monday and Tuesday, October 28-29, at The Judson in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
