Women's Golf Headlines MVC Postseason Awards

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Three Belmont golfers, Sloane Biddle, Chloe Tarkany, and Lauren Davis have earned Missouri Valley Conference postseason honors as the conference office announced postseason awards Tuesday afternoon.

Biddle was named the MVC Golfer of the Year, with Davis earning the Freshman of the Year honors.  Tarkany joined Biddle on the All-MVC team. 

Biddle, a sophomore from Old Hickory, Tennessee, was named MVC Golfer of the Year by a vote of the league's head coaches and also earned All-MVC honors for the second straight year.  She garnered the honors after having a outstanding season on the links.  She won the MVC Individual Championship, becoming the first Belmont's golfer to win a conference title and earn a berth to NCAA Regionals.  She led the team in scoring, top-10s, top-20s, and rounds of par or better.  Sloane won two individual titles and had two runner-up finishes.  She becomes just the second Belmont golfer to earn conference Golfer of the Year honors, joining Lorie Warren, who won it twice. She is also just the third Bruin to garner All-Conference honors in her first two years as a Bruin, joining Warren and Delia Gibbs.

Tarkany earns All-MVC honors for the first time in her career.  The Scottsdale, Arizona product won two individual titles this season and had five top-10s ad eigth top-20 finishes.  She ranked second on the team in scoring at 73.0 and in rounds of par or better with seven.  With her two wins this season, Chloe became one of two Belmont golfers to win four or more individual titles in their career, joining Warren.

Davis was named MVC Freshman of the Year.  The Knoxville, Tennessee native played in nine events and had a 78.3 average with four top-25 finishes.  She is the first Bruin in program  history to earn a Freshman of the Year Award.
