HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in seventh place at The Judson held this week at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
In Tuesday's final round, Belmont shot a team score of 306 to finish in seventh place at 919. Host Southern Miss won the team title at 867, while Tarleton State placed second at 869.
Three Bruins finished among the top-25. Junior
Chloe Tarkany carded a four under par 68 on Tuesday to finish in 11
th place at 221. She finished 11 shots back of the medalist, Mathilde Brogens of Tarleton State (210). It was her fourth top-15 finish of the fall season.
Tarkany's 68 on Tuesday tied her career-best round as Bruin. She previously posted a 68 in the final round of the Butler Fall Invitational earlier this month. The score is also tied for the fourth lowest in program history, sharing the spot with teammate
Sloane Biddle and alum Julia Nittoli. In addition, her four under par score is tied for third lowest score in relation to par in school history.
Biddle shot a final round 78 to finish in a tie for 13
th place at 223. It was her third top-15 finish of her young Belmont career.
Fellow freshman
Harper Edwards tied for 31st
place at 232 after posting a 79 on Tuesday.
Senior
Eva Graham tied for 47
th place at 243, while sophomore
Paige Hammarstrom placed 59
th at 257.
This tournament wraps up the fall season for the women's golf team. They earned three top-six finishes in four events, including a runner-up finish at Evansville last week. They will kick off their 2025 spring season on March 3-4 at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama.
