Women’s Soccer Prepares for Missouri State

Top Teams in MVC Square Off Sunday Afternoon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer (6-6-1, 3-1 MVC) returns home Sunday afternoon for a highly anticipated matchup against Missouri State (5-4-3, 3-0-1 MVC).
 
Kickoff from E.S. Rose Park is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+. Sunday is the annual Pink Game; fans are encouraged to wear pink and stop by the marketing table to receive a free pink cup.
 
What's Bruin
  • Reagan and Carly Ross scored goals in the second half of Thursday's 2-0 victory at Murray State. Belmont's six shots on goal were the most since their season-high eight against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 12.
  • The Bruins are 3-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference and 5-1-1 in the last seven matches.
  • Belmont is second in the MVC with nine points and is one point behind Missouri State for the top spot.
  • The Bruins are one of three teams in the MVC to allow only one goal and post three shutouts in conference play.
  • Freshmen Ava Labocki and Reagan Ross rank in the Top 15 of the MVC in goals. Ava Labocki is tied for fifth with a team-high four goals. Reagan Ross is second on the team and tied for 13th in the conference with three goals. 
  • Sydney Jones is second in the MVC in saves (52) and fourth in save percentage (.800). Through four MVC matches, Jones is tied for the most shutouts (3) and lowest goals-against average (.250) in conference play.
  • Eight Bruins have scored a goal this season; nine players have recorded an assist.
  • Lillie Tabor leads the team with 1,110 minutes played.
Scouting the Bears
  • Missouri State defeated Indiana State on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2-0. The Bears are on a four-match unbeaten streak.
  • Camielle Day – 2023 MVC Goalkeeper of the Year – is second in the MVC with five shutouts. She has made 46 saves and owns a .738 save percentage in 11 matches.
  • Grace O'Keefe leads the MVC with 19 shots on goal.
  • Julia Kristensen leads the Bears with four goals. Kristensen has recorded six points in the last two matches; she recorded two assists on Sept. 29 against Indiana State and goals against Northern Iowa (Sept. 19) and Evansville (Sept. 26).

  • Belmont is 1-4 all-time against Missouri State.
  • The first meeting between the teams was Oct. 23, 1998; Belmont won 4-1.
