NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following an impressive 30-win season, the Belmont University Softball Program has released their 2025 schedule, featuring competitive non-conference opponents as well as familiar Missouri Valley Conference foes.
The Bruins will head to Atlanta, Ga. to open the season in a tournament at Georgia Tech February 7-9. They'll face off against Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, and host Georgia Tech. All three were top 85 programs in the country last season according to the NCAA Rankings.
Belmont will then travel to Arizona for another tournament hosted by Arizona State and Grand Canyon. They'll take on Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, Weber State, Arizona State, and Oregon over a three-day stretch. Grand Canyon (49) and Oregon (30) were both top 50 programs last season.
Belmont will also take part in a tournament hosted by UAB starting February 21. The field of the tournament remains undecided.
The Bruins then return to E.S. Rose Park for their home opener against Tennessee State.
Belmont will continue their nearly month-long home stand with a weekend series against Big Ten opponent Maryland. The Bruins then host rival Lipscomb in a midweek matchup before taking on Robert Morris and Brown in two doubleheaders.
Belmont will open conference play at home against Murray State on March 12, followed by a weekend series against Drake.
The Bruins are set to host defending MVC champions and 42
nd ranked program Southern Illinois for a three-game series starting March 28.
Belmont concludes the regular season with a home series against Indiana State before the MVC Tournament the following week.
The Bruins enter their third season in the MVC looking to improve upon a strong 2024 campaign in which they posted a 16-11 conference record before falling to Missouri State in the MVC Tournament.

Laura Matthews said, "We really wanted to challenge ourselves early in the season so that we're prepared for everything we may see in the Valley. We have an incredibly experienced team that will be complimented by our talented group of newcomers. We're excited about the journey ahead."
