Record Six Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes Tabbed Academic All-District®

Chastonay, Clayton, Dildy, Hough, Johnson and Mark Earn Academic Recognition from College Sports Communicators (CSC)

GREENWOOD, Ind. – A record six Belmont University men's soccer student-athletes have been named Academic All-District® as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). Announced by the professional organization last Tuesday, AJ Chastonay, Alex Clayton, Brad Dildy, Oscar Hough, Alex Johnson and Jimiyu Mark have been placed on the 2024 CSC Academic All-District® NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Team.

Annually, the CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top men's soccer student-athletes for their combined performances on the pitch and in the classroom. Honorees are separately acknowledged in four divisions – NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III and the NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which is being voted upon by CSC members.

Senior captain midfielder Chastonay, a native of Louisville, Kentucky (Saint Xavier HS), led the Bruins in goals (5), points (12) and shots (28) this fall and is Belmont's winningest player in program history with 40 match victories alongside fellow senior midfielder Eric Stiles. Owning a 3.88 cumulative grade point average while double majoring in finance and business systems & analytics, Chastonay finished third in school history with 18 career goals. Chastonay is a four-time CSC, formerly College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Academic All-District® selection and has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team each of the last two years.

Senior defender Clayton started 15 of the Bruins' 17 matches in 2024 and played in 16, assisting on a team-high four goals. The Wellington, New Zealand, product scored in Belmont's non-conference home triumph over Southern Indiana (Aug. 25) and was tabbed Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Player of the Week on Aug. 27. Clayton is a two-time CSC Academic All-District® honoree and holds a 3.61 cumulative GPA while majoring in psychological science and minoring in neuroscience.

Junior midfielder Dildy started 16 matches this season and was one of six Bruins to play all 17 matches. The San Antonio, Texas (Smithson Valley HS), native assisted on a goal in three of Belmont's last five matches of the season, including the last two. Dildy provided the assist on the Bruins' equalizing goal in the 2-2 road draw at MVC champion Evansville to close out the year. With a 3.87 cumulative GPA as a finance major, Dildy picks up his first CSC Academic All-District® accolade.

Also hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, Hough started 16 matches this fall and was one of six Belmont players to see action in all 17 contests. The junior midfielder collects his first CSC Academic All-District® honor with an impressive 3.97 cumulative GPA while majoring in economics and minoring in finance.

One of six Bruins to play in all 17 matches this season, senior defender Johnson made seven starts. A local native of Franklin, Tennessee (Grace Christian Academy), Johnson possesses a 3.54 cumulative GPA as a finance major and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District® selection.

Making 16 starts, redshirt junior forward Mark was also one of six Belmont players to get in all 17 matches in 2024. The Houston, Texas (Klein HS), native tallied a trio of assists and finished fourth on the team in both shots on goal (6) and total shots (15). With a 3.55 cumulative GPA, Mark earns his first CSC Academic All-District® recognition majoring in sport administration and minoring in social media management.
