BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - - Belmont (11-9) and Indiana (11-9) finished their series Sunday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field. Indiana's offense was too much for the Bruins to contain, as the Hoosiers took the series, with a 15-7 win.
Bruin Bullets
- Mason Landers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Landers homered in every game against Indiana, and brings his season total to five. He finished the game with two RBIs.
- Landon Godsey went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. The catcher also picked up an RBI.
- Sam Slaughter went 2-for-4 and knocked in a pair of runs.
- Brodey Heaton picked up an RBI.
- Jack Rando reached base three times.
- Ty Allen recorded a strikeout in his pitching debut.
Belmont scored first in all three games this weekend. Following a two-out single from
Mason Landers,
Brodey Heaton reached base on an error.
Landon Godsey doubled to center field, which brought Landers home.
The Hoosiers tied it at 1-1 following an RBI single from Brock Tibbitts.
Joe Ruzicka worked out of the inning and left the bases loaded. The Hoosiers scored three runs in the second inning, courtesy of a bases-loaded situation with no out. Three walks in the inning gave the Hoosiers plenty to work with, as they capitalized on the free passes throughout the game. Belmont issued 14 walks in the game.
Belmont had an opportunity with the bases loaded in the fourth inning. Indiana's second error of the game kept the inning alive for the Bruins. Following a walk to

Sam Slaughter was hit by a pitch, with the bases loaded. The Bruins couldn't bring home any more runs, but cut the deficit to 4-2.
Mason Landers hit a solo home run to lead off the fifth inning. His third home run of the series and fifth of the season made it a 4-3 ballgame.
Indiana scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning. Indiana led 10-3 going into the sixth inning.
Belmont put up a three spot in the sixth to make things interesting.
Max Blessinger reached first on a drop-third strike to start the inning.
Michael Lareau singled through the left side. Pinch hitter
Sam Kirkpatrick reached on an error to load the bases for Belmont. Slaughter's second single of the game brought in Blessinger.
Jack Rando walked with the bases loaded. Landers hit into a double play, but brought home another run. Heaton singled up the middle, and brought home Slaughter. Belmont's four runs on four hits made it a 10-7 deficit.
Indiana scored five runs on three hits in the final three innings. Indiana won the game, 15-7.
