ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team stands in fifth place after the first round of the Peoples Golf Championship at Sea Palms in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Belmont carded a team score of 283 (-1) on Thursday to put them alone in fifth place. Davidson has the team lead at 274, with host Western Carolina and Xavier tied for second at 280. Drexel is in fourth place at 281.
Two Bruins are among the top-10 after round one. Senior
Reeve Felner and junior Michael Senn are each tied for eighth place after shooting a two-under par 69. Felner posted three birdies and one bogey, while Senn had five birdies and three bogeys. They are four shots back of the individual leader, Shane Ochs of Wright State (65).
Sophomore
Jack Schoenberger is three shots back of Felner and Senn in a tie for 37
th place after carding a 72.
Sophomore
Conner Brown is in a tie for 48
th place after shooting a 73, while graduate student Joe Bultman is tied for 92
nd at 77.
Freshman
Jack Darke, competing as an individual, is tied for 76
th place after posting a 75.
