ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team is tied for fifth place after the second round of the Peoples Golf Championship at Sea Palms in St. Simons Island, Georgia.Â
Belmont carded a team score of 287 on Friday to finish in a tie for fifth place with host Western Carolina at 570. Davidson continues to have a commanding lead with a score of 547. Drexel is in the second at 560, with Xavier in third at 568. Wright State is in fourth place at 569.
Three Bruins, sophomore
Jack Schoenberger, senior
Reeve Felner, and junior Michael Senn, are tied for 12
th place at 141. Schoenberger shot a two-under par 69, which included seven birdies and five bogeys. Felner carded a one over par 71, which included two birdies and three bogeys. Senn posted a 72 as well with three birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey.
Sophomore
Conner Brown shot a 74 on Friday to finish the day in a tie for 60
th place at 148.Â
Graduate student
Joe Bultman and freshman
Jack Darke (competing as an individual) sre tied for 75
th place at 151. Bultman posted a 74, while Darke had a 76.
The third and final round is set to begin Saturday morning at 6:30am CT. The Belmont golfers will tee off from #1 from 7:20-8:15am CT. Live scoring can be found at BelmontBruins.com.
