SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – The Belmont men's golf team stands in fourth place after round one of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship held Sunday at The Club at Porta Cima in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.Â
Belmont carded a team score of 295 (+7) to finish the day in fourth place. Southern Illinois has the team lead as they posted a championship record 278 on Sunday. Missouri State is in second at 285, while Valparaiso is in third at 291.

The Bruins have two golfers in the top-10 after 18 holes. Sophomore
Conner Brown leads BU as he shot an one-under par 71 to finish the round in fourth place. The Shelbyville, Tennessee native is four shots back of the co-leaders: Leon Heitz of Southern Illinois and Hampus Wijkstrom of Missouri State, who each shot 67.

Jack Schoenberger is tied for ninth place after carding an even par 72Â in round one.Â

The second round is set to begin Monday morning at 9:00am. The Bruins will tee off from the first hole from 9:00-9:40am.Â
