SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in sixth place at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship held this week at The Club at Porta Cima in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Belmont shot a team score of 300 in Tuesday's final round to finish in sixth place at 888. Southern Illinois won the team title with a mark of 856. Missouri State placed second at 864, while Valparaiso was third at 868.
Two Bruins finished among the top-15 at the championship. Sophomore
Jack Schoenberger led BU as he tied for 10
th place at 216. He finished seven shots behind the individual medalist, Eduoard Cereto of Southern Illinois (209). The Georgia native carded a final round 73 to help post his sixth top-10 finish of the season.
Junior Michael Senn shot a 74 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 15
th place at 220. It was his eighth top-20 finish in 10 events.
Sophomore
Conner Brown finished in a tie for 21
st place at 223. He carded a 77 in Tuesday's final round. It was his fourth top-25 showing of the season.
Senior
Reeve Felner tied for 34
th place at 230, while freshman
Jack Darke tied for 38
th place at 233.
This tournament wraps up the 2023-24 season for the Bruins. In 10 events, the team won three team titles, which is tied for the most by a Belmont squad in the Division I era (2004-05, 2015-16) and had a total of eight top-five finishes.
