Baseball Falls to Bradley

Bruins Come Up Short in Low-Scoring Game

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont (21-22, 8-9 MVC) and Bradley (11-28-1, 5-12) returned to E.S. Rose Park on Saturday afternoon. The Belmont Baseball team celebrated their annual Team IMPACT Game. The Braves won the pitchers' duel, 4-3.
 
 
Bruin Bullets
  • Mason Landers went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and hit his 16th home run of the season. Landers has homered in both games of the series. Landers also stole home.
  • Dominic Baratta went 6.2 innings, allowed four runs on six hits and struck out a season-high eight batters.
  • Jordan Zuger tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.
Mason Landers gave Belmont an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Sam Slaughter led off with a single. Landers hit a two-run home run to left field.
 
Bradley scored their first run of the game on a solo home run by Beau Durbin in the third inning. The Braves tied the game with a leadoff solo shot from Logan Delgad in the fourth.
 
Belmont retook the lead in the sixth inning. The Bruins had runners on first and third with two outs. Landon Godsey got into a rundown as Landers stole home. Belmont led 3-2.
 
Bradley responded with a pair of runs in the seventh inning on three hits. The scoring occurred on Jack Lincoln's double down the left-field line. The Braves took a 4-3 lead.
 
Both teams saw strong performances from their starting pitchers. Belmont's Dominic Baratta went 6.2 innings, allowed four runs on six hits and struck out a season-high eight batters. Bradley's Noah Edders earned the win behind his eight-inning performance. Edders allowed five hits, three runs and struck out 10 batters.
