OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – Led by Michael Senn's second individual career title, the Belmont men's golf team defended their crown and won the team title at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate held this week at Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
In Tuesday's final round, which was played in light to moderate rain all morning, the Bruins posted a team score of 278 to tie Samford for first place at 846. BU won the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs.
This is the third team title of the season for Belmont. They won two events in the fall at Eastern Kentucky and Marshall. It also marks the second straight year the Bruins have won the Big Blue Intercollegiate and the fourth time overall as a program.
Junior Michael Senn earned his second career individual title as he posted an eight under par 63 to finish with a 54-hole mark of 200. He finished six shots ahead of runner-up, Alex Eickhoff of SIUE. The Arkansas native had nine birdies and one bogey in his final round.
Senn's score of 63 ties for the lowest round by a Belmont golfer in the Division I era. His -8 total for Tuesday ties the school record for lowest round in relation to par and his 54-hole mark of 200 ranks as the second lowest in the Division I era, just one shot off the record of 199.
Freshman
Grey Goff, competing as individual, shot an even par 71 to finish in a tie for 15
th place at 213. It's his best finish as a Bruin and his second top-20 finish of the season.
Sophomore
Jack Schoenberger finished 17
th with a score of 214. It was his ninth top-20 finish in nine events this year.

Three other Bruins are competing as individuals: graduate student
Jack Bergstrom (T-51, 226), graduate student

This tournament wraps up the regular season. Their next event is the MVC Championship, April 21-23, in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
