Men's Tennis Closes Horizon League Individual Championships with Three Match Wins Saturday

CLEVELAND – On the second day of the inaugural Horizon League Individual Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, the Belmont University men's tennis team claimed three match victories as the Bruins took a pair of consolation doubles matches and graduate Niklas von Hellens won his consolation singles match. In the quarterfinals of the singles main draw Saturday morning, junior Esunge Ndumbe fell 6-2, 6-4 to Tennessee State's Jonasz Dziopak.
 
Von Hellens earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Northern Kentucky's Hector Salvador at Cleveland State's Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion to finish Belmont's singles action.
 
In doubles play, freshman Charlie Robin teamed up with junior Sabi Roi for a 6-3 win over Cleveland State's Nico Jamison and Devin Boyer while senior Diego Castro and von Hellens defeated the Norse's Xavier Ecarma and Emilio Bravo, also 6-3.
