EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Belmont women's soccer dropped a tightly contested match on the road Saturday evening, falling 2–1 to Evansville at McCutchan Stadium.
After conceding an early goal in the 23rd minute, the Bruins battled back to even the score in the second half. Senior midfielder Megan Miller found the back of the net in the 57th minute, finishing a cross from Megan Miller with an assist also credited to Megan Miller.
The Purple Aces regained the lead in the 82nd minute when Brooklyn Robinson capitalized on a feed from Isabel Valdez, sealing the win for the hosts.
Belmont generated six shots in the contest, including four after halftime, while holding strong defensively behind goalkeeper Megan Miller, who recorded three saves in 90 minutes of play.
With the loss, Belmont moves to 3-4-6 overall and 1-2-2 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
