Women's Basketball’s MVC Schedule Revealed

Bruins’ Full 2025-26 Schedule Now Out

ST. LOUIS – The complete 2025-26 Belmont University women's basketball schedule has been revealed with the Missouri Valley Conference announcing the Bruins' 20-game league slate Monday morning. In addition to Belmont's impressive non-conference schedule, which includes a trio of December home dates with some of the top teams in the country, the Bruins will host 10 MVC opponents in the Curb Event Center beginning Wednesday, Dec. 17. Getting four of its first five MVC games at home, Belmont will start its quest for a second Valley championship in mid-December with the University of Evansville visiting. Following Christmas, the Bruins will travel to Southern Illinois on Monday, Dec. 29 before a four-game MVC homestand to begin 2026.

Belmont will host Bradley (Jan. 2), Illinois State (Jan. 4), regular MVC title contender Drake (Jan. 9) and Northern Iowa (Jan. 11) to start the new year.

For the first time since joining the MVC, the Bruins will play a conference game prior to Christmas. With Belmont hosting NCAA Tournament usuals Princeton (Dec. 6), Kentucky (Dec. 14) and Duke (Dec. 20) in December non-conference action, the Bruins will play eight of nine games at the Curb from Saturday, Dec. 6 – Sunday, Jan. 11.

Following MVC road matchups at Indiana State (Jan. 15) and defending regular season and tournament champion Murray State (Jan. 18), Belmont will return to the Music City on Saturday, Jan. 24 to take on Southern Illinois. After closing the month of January at Evansville (Jan. 29), the Bruins will host the Racers on Sunday, Feb. 1 in a rematch of last season's MVC Tournament championship game.

Belmont will make the trek to Drake (Feb. 5) and Northern Iowa (Feb. 7) before consecutive home games in mid-February against the University of Illinois Chicago (Feb. 13) and Valparaiso (Feb. 15). The Bruins will head to Illinois State (Feb. 20), who Belmont shared the 2022-23 MVC regular season title with, and Bradley (Feb. 22) ahead of senior day on Saturday, Feb. 28 versus Indiana State.

Opening the key month of March, the Bruins will wrap up the regular season on the road at Valparaiso on Thursday, March 5 and UIC on Saturday, March 7.

After playing four of its final five games of the regular season on the road, Belmont will look to contend for the 2026 Credit Union 1 MVC Basketball Tournament once again. For the first time, the MVC Tournament will be held at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa, Thursday-Sunday, March 12-15. It marks the 18th-straight year the MVC Tournament will be held at a neutral site.

An MVC-record tying seven Valley teams reached postseason play in 2024-25 with five programs, including the Bruins, surpassing 20 victories.

Belmont has reached a conference tournament championship game eight of the last 10 years and finished in the top three of its conference in 13 of the last 14 seasons, including each of the last 10 seasons.

In their third season in the MVC last year, the Bruins tied for third with a 15-5 conference mark before reaching the league tournament title game as the No. 3 seed.

Tipoff times for all MVC games will be announced soon.

Annually taking on one of the best non-conference schedules in the nation, Belmont will face no fewer than six NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago – at Oklahoma (Nov. 3), at Tennessee (Nov. 13), versus Ohio State (Nov. 24) in the Bahamas, versus Princeton (Dec. 6), versus Kentucky (Dec. 14) and versus Duke (Dec. 20). Of those six, five reached at least the second round of the Big Dance and three made it to the Sweet 16 with the Blue Devils continuing on to the Elite Eight.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Bruins will compete in a prestigious MTE (multi-team event) over Thanksgiving week with Belmont visiting Nassau, Bahamas, for the 2025 Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship. A part of the Goombay Division, Belmont will challenge the Buckeyes for the third-straight season before seeing either West Virginia, who also reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past March, or McNeese State on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

One of only nine programs in the nation to have won 20-plus games for 10 consecutive seasons, the Bruins went 26-13 last season and reached the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) championship game after defeating BIG EAST Conference mainstay Villanova in the semifinals inside historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. During its historic national postseason run, Belmont defeated NCAA Tournament bubble team James Madison by 45 points (90-45) on the road in the WBIT quarterfinals after overcoming a 21-point deficit against Northern Arizona in the second round of the tournament.

Having claimed seven national postseason wins over the last five years, the Bruins have earned a national postseason bid in 12 of the last 13 seasons dating back to 2012-13.

Belmont returns eight letter winners for the 2025-26 season, including starters Tuti Jones, Emily La Chapell and Jailyn Banks, while welcoming seven newcomers.
