EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Led by Chloe's Tarkany's individual title, the Belmont women's golf team captured the team title at the Braun Intercollegiate held this week at Oak Meadow Country Club in Evansville, Indiana.
Tarkany earned her third career individual title by shooting an even par 72 in the final round to finish with a 36-hole mark of 145, two strokes ahead of runner-up and teammate
Sloane Biddle (147).
With the victory, she becomes just the second Belmont women's golfer to win three individual titles, joining
Lorie Warren Drake, who captured seven during her career.
The Bruins notched their first team title since September 2023 when they won The Velvet Classic. They shot a final round 295 to finish with a 36-hole mark of 599, 27 strokes ahead of second place finishers UIC and Indian Hills Community College (626). UAB placed fourth at 629.
It was the program's 11
th team championship in the Division I era and fifth under Head Coach
Olivia Jordan.
Two other Belmont finished among the top-five. Sophomore
Sloane Biddle posted her third career runner-up finish as she placed second at 147. She shot a final round 74 on Tuesday. It was her third top-10 finish of the fall.
Junior
Paige Hammarstrom earned her best career finish as a Bruin as she placed fourth with a score of 152. She shot an even par 72 in the final round.
Freshman
Lauren Davis posted her best finish as a Bruin as she finished in a tie for 17
th place at 158.
Sophomore
Sophie Skoog tied for 31
st place with a mark of 161.
Sophomore
Emilee Swagger, competing as an individual, tied for 42nd place at 165.
The women's golf team is back in action next Monday and Tuesday at The Judson in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
