Bruins in the Hunt to Make the Playoffs

(Belmont (3-5-7) (1-3-3 MVC) at UIC (5-7-4) (1-3-3 MVC)
October 26th | 1:00 p.m.
Flames Field | Chicago, IL

CHICAGO, ILL.- -  Belmont women's soccer travels north for its last regular season road match, taking on UIC in a key Missouri Valley Conference matchup. The Bruins (3-5-7, 1-3-3 MVC) enter the match aiming to finish conference play on a high note and try to secure momentum heading into the postseason.

Belmont's balanced offense has remained consistent all season, producing 16 goals from 10 different players. Senior forward Laken Whittington leads the team with three goals and one assist, while Olivia Walker, Kennedy Wise, and Reagan Ross who is out for the season each have netted two goals apiece. The Bruins' offense averages 1.07 goals per game, with more than half of their total goals (nine) coming in the second half of matches.

Megan Miller has anchored Belmont's midfield and back line, contributing a team-leading three assists and logging over 1,100 minutes this season. Kaitlyn Elliott has added two goals, including two game-winners, while Ava Labocki and Sami Bird have also chipped in key goals throughout the year.

On the defensive side, graduate goalkeeper Sydney Jones continues to be one of the Valley's most reliable players in net, posting a .803 save percentage, 61 saves, and five shutouts through 13 starts. Lillie Tabor leads the team in minutes played (1,350), anchoring a back line that has limited opponents to just 1.13 goals per game and held them under 12 shots per contest.

The matchup with UIC (5-7-4, 1-3-3 MVC) features two programs with nearly identical defensive numbers. Belmont will look to stay organized defensively while pushing forward to generate high-quality chances in the final third.
