MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Belmont (4-13) and Middle Tennessee (10-6) faced off Wednesday evening at Reese Smith Jr. Field. The Bruins totaled five hits and four errors in the game. MTSU's four runs in the fifth inning propelled the Blue Raiders to a 7-3 win.

- Belmont's Ty Allen hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.
- MTSU answered in the home half with an RBI single from Kenny McKinley.
- Belmont scored two runs in the fifth inning. Pete Daniel drove in Gardner Lawrence on a double to right center. Charlie Davis brought Daniel home on a sacrifice fly to left field. The Bruins led 3-1.
- The Blue Raiders scored four runs in the fifth inning on two hits, including a three-run home run from Brett Vondohlen. MTSU led for the first time, 5-3.
- MTSU scored a runs in the sixth and eighth innings. The Blue Raiders led 7-3 and held on to defeat the Bruins.
