SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Game two of the weekend series between Belmont (10-18, 2-3 MVC) and Missouri State (12-13, 4-1 MVC) was completely different than game one. The Bruins scored in every inning after the first and racked up 19 hits against the Bears. Missouri State attempted to keep pace with the Bruins late in the game but never caught up. Belmont evened the series with a 17-11 victory.

Scoring Action
- Belmont scored a pair of runs in the second inning. Landon Godsey hit a leadoff triple. Sprockett was hit by a pitch. Blake Barton brought in Godsey on a sacrifice bunt. Godsey scored on Kaden Galason's double down the left-field line.
- Missouri State tied the game at 2-2 on a two-run home run from Max Knight. The Bears took a 3-2 on a double steal with a throwing error.
- Mike Sprockett gave Belmont a 4-3 lead in the third inning on a two-run shot to right field.
- The Bears tied the game 4-4 on a throwing error by Sprocket in the bottom of the third.
- Belmont went back in front 5-4 in the fourth inning. Galson hit a leadoff single and Lareau followed with a one-out base knock down the left-field line. Pete Daniel drove in Galason on a single through the left side.
- Missouri State went back in front in the bottom of the fourth. A two-run home run from Nick Rodriguez gave the Bears a 6-5 lead.
- The Bruins hung a four spot on the board in the fifth inning. Blake Barton hit RBI doubles and Galason followed with his second double of the game, which scored two runs. Pinch hitter Gardner Lawrence singled through the left side and scored Galason. The Bruins retook the lead, 9-6.
- Mike Sprockett hit an opposite-field two-run bomb – his second of the game – to extend Belmont's lead, 11-6.
- In the sixth inning, Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly to center field to cut Missouri State's deficit to 11-7.
- The Bruins went back up by five in the seventh inning. Daniel scored on a wild pitch with two outs.
- The Bruins added four more runs of insurance in the eighth inning on a wild pitch scoring Godsey, a Lareau single scoring Sprockett, and a two-run double by Daniel scoring Lareau and Sergeant. Belmont led 16-7 moving to the bottom of the eighth.
- The Bears scored in the bottom of the eighth on a solo home run by McCutcheon.
- Belmont added their final run of the night on an RBI triple by Barton in the top of the 9th.
- Missouri State scored three in the bottom of the ninth on a three-run homer from Dylan Robertson. Belmont won the game 17-11 and evened the series.Â
Bruin Bullets
- Pete Daniel went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.
- Ty Allen had two hits and scored three times.
- Landon Godsey, Mike Sprockett and Kaden Galason all had three hits. Sprockett and Galason combined for seven RBIs. Sprockett hit two home runs for the second time this season.
- Blake Barton went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a triple.
- Joe Ruzicka improved to 2-1 on the season. He threw five innings, allowed four earned runs and fanned five batters,
- Andrew Perry struck out a career-high six batters.
Belmont wraps up their series with Missouri State tomorrow afternoon at noon CT.
