NASHVILLE, Tenn. –  Belmont (20-26, 9-9 MVC) and Valparaiso (8-30, 3-15 MVC) wrapped up their weekend series Sunday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park. The series finale followed the pitchers' duel theme of games one and two. The Bruins plated the only run of the game in the eighth inning and completed the series sweep.

- Charlie Davis set the table for Belmont in the eighth inning with a double.
- Starting pitcher Jake Timbes allowed four hits in five shutout innings with a pair of strikeouts.
- Owen Marsh tossed 2.2 innings out of the bullpen with two strikeouts.
- Andrew Perry struck out Liam Patton in the eighth inning and picked up his second win of the season.
- Ethan Harden tossed a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his fifth save of the season.
- The series is the first time in program history that Belmont has swept a series and shut out an opponent in every game. It was the first time since March 26-28, 1998, that Belmont had won three consecutive games in shutout fashion
